Neurons that Fire Together, Wire Together

After learning about the idea that “neurons that fire together, wire together,” I began to see the brain in a new light.

I was amazed to discover that the human brain contains around 86 billion neurons—that’s more than ten times the number of people living on Earth.

This made me realize… we are not just a physical body.
We are a living symphony, a universe within, constantly moving and evolving.

These billions of neurons aren’t acting alone. They’re always working together, communicating, learning, and adapting—moment by moment.

Who could possibly guide such intricate harmony?

Only something infinitely intelligent,
infinitely loving,
and infinitely present.

The poem below was inspired by this reflection—an offering to the sacred intelligence that lives quietly within each of us.

Within Me, the Hands of God

Eighty-six billion lights within me,
each one a whisper, a breath, a song—
more than the people on Earth,
tenfold… and still,
they move in harmony.

Who could hold such vastness?
Who could listen to each spark
as it reaches out,
seeking connection,
seeking truth?

Only You.

You, who breathed this miracle into being.
You, who see not just the stars in the sky
but the galaxies beneath my skin.

You guide the unseen symphony
of thought and healing,
of memory and becoming.

I close my eyes and feel You—
not far away,
but here,
within the silence between each beat,
each fire,
each tender unfolding.

I am not alone.
Within me,
the hands of God are weaving light.
And I,
am learning to listen.
